Labbayk Allahuma Labbayk are the cries of the pilgrims from around the world who have converged to this place in servitude of their lord. Many of the rites of Hajj are based upon the actions of obedience and sincerity of the Prophet Ibrahim and his family, such as the Saee, pacing between the two mountains, as his wife Hajar did to find water for their son Ismail; the stoning of the Jamarat, symbolic of warding off the devil when Ibrahim was asked to sacrifice his beloved son Ismail. These very actions are the foundations of the rites of Hajj and are steeped in history all the way from the time of the Prophet Ibrahim to the Prophet Muhammad who taught us how to perform them.
